MURFREESBORO – With the first fall camp practice scheduled for next month, the preseason all-conference teams are starting to come out including Phil Steele and Athlon Sports. The Blue Raiders have 10 players represented on Phil Steele's CUSA Team while nine appear on the Athlon Sports preseason team.
 
First team selections are linebacker Parker Hughes and long snapper Brody Butler for Phil Steele while Hughes and tight end Holden Willis made the Athlon Sports first team.
 
Running back Brian Brewton was a second team selection by Phil Steele as a kick returner and wide receiver Omari Kelly earned a second team nod by Athlon.
 
Quarterback Nicholas Vattiato, Willis, and linebacker Devyn Curtis appeared on Phil Steele's third team while Athlon's third unit included Vattiato, running back Frank Peasant, offensive lineman Julius Pierce, linebacker Drew Francis and Curtis.
 
Fourth team members for Phil Steele are safety Brendon Harris, placekicker Zeke Rankin, punter Trey Turk and Kelly while cornerback Tyrell Raby made Athlon's fourth team.
 
The Blue Raiders will report to fall camp on July 30 with the first practice set for July 31. MTSU will open the 2024 season at home on Aug. 31 against in-state foe Tennessee Tech.
