SHELBYVILLE, TN – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles and Community Vikings both went 2-0 while Cascade went 1-1 in the first-annual Bedford County Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Rick Insell Gymnasium.

SHELBYVILLE, TN – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles and Community Vikings both went 2-0 while Cascade went 1-1 in the first-annual Bedford County Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Rick Insell Gymnasium.
Shelbyville Central picked up a pair of wins against Clarksville NE, 73-51, on Friday and Franklin County, 71-58, on Saturday. Tae’Shawn Shelton led the way for the Golden Eagles on Saturday, scoring a game-high 24 points, including 18 in the second half, against Franklin County.
For the Vikings, Karson Boyce and Jaxon Williams led the way with 12 points apiece for Community in their 86-41 win over Battle Creek on Saturday. Community also handled KIPP-Nashville with ease on Friday, winning 71-25 in their first game of the Classic.
Meanwhile, Cascade went 1-1 against Battle Creek and state-tournament favorites, Loretto. The Champions beat Battle Creek, 78-36, on Friday, before losing to the Mustangs, 76-50, on Saturday. Kasen Buie led Loretto with a game-high 22 points against Cascade while Jason Cullum and Kaleb Kelso tied for the team-high with 11 points apiece.
The Golden Eagles improved to 4-0 overall on the season.
Community improved to 5-2 on the year as a whole.
Cascade finished the weekend at 3-3 overall.
