Mary Lee Farliss Harrell, age 84, of Shelbyville, passed from this life on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital after an extended illness.
Born June 8, 1940, in the Fairfield community, Mary was daughter of the late Jim Farliss and Audie Peral Driver Farliss. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by grandchildren, Skylar Harrell, and Chelsey Williams; husband, Cecil Harrell; loving companion, Casey Driver; siblings, Fannie Ratleph, Josie Williams, Dolly Farliss, Irene Farliss, Belle Farliss, Tommy Farliss, Steve Farliss, and Frank Farliss.
Mary worked with Empire Pencil for 30+ years as a machine operator, having retired in 2005. In her younger years, she and her companion enjoyed riding their Goldwing and were members of the Goldwing Motorcycle Club. In her free time, she loved to plant flowers, thrifting at yard sales, going out to eat on the weekends, and watching her favorite tv shows while relaxing.
Survivors include her children; Mary Mongeau and husband John, Rachel Hazelwood and husband David, Danny Harrell and wife Glenda, Margaret Farliss, Diane Labraney, and Carl Williams and wife Lyn; grandchildren, Jeffery (Tara) Harrell, Debra Williams, Justin Williams, Michael (Anna Clair) Harrell, Milissa (Chaz) Warren, Brandi (Josh) Blakenship, Scottie Harrell, Nathaniel Harrell, Savanah Martineau, Mariah Harrell, Bridgette Haynes, Scotty Haynes, Christopher Harrell, Kimberly Williams, Nikki (Jacob) Bolin, Jessica Williams, Veronica Williams, and Steven Moore; great grandchildren, Eliza, Jacob, Byson, Lillie Jamie, Kalob, Thaddeus, Brandon, Mykyla, Gracie, Carl, Jr., Ashton, Bentley, Bradon, Neo, Liam, Atreus, Kaleigh, Mazzi, Lakyn, Crispin, Leilani, and Maddie; and great great grandchildren, Ali’yah, Kayiona, D’Quan, Lukas, Lilith, and Onyx.  Fun

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Randall Harmon officiating. Burial followed at Logan Cemetery in Beechgrove. Visitation was held Tuesday, prior to funeral services, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
